~Day 251: The Storm was BIG

Historic rainfall the night before.  Lakes popped up all over town.  Rainfall throughout the morning.  The kids were excited to be able to use their umbrellas, and almost swim to school.  The storms seem to miss us, though.  Our city got over 3 inches of rain, while other cities around us got 4-5 inches and schools were cancelled.  Not us. As usual.

 

This is a park near the kids' school.  Not sure how deep that water is, but the pond is covering up several steps of the playground.

The kids wanted to play in the water today, but they had piano lessons, so we didn't have time.  I drove by the park by our house.  The lake was still there and two of the kids got brave and walked in it.

 

Cailee thought the water looked gross.  So she just ran around on the basketball court. And yes, she picked out her own outfit.  I'm very proud.

And this was my fun today.  I was taking pictures of the fake-lake earlier.  Not sure what happened exactly, but I ended up on my behind.  (no witnesses thank goodness) Can't walk on the foot anymore without looking like a gimp.  So I'm icing it and elevating it tonight, hoping I won't need a doctor.  Was it worth it?  I don't know... all I took pictures of was water from an historic storm.  I guess I won't be forgetting this storm anytime soon.
