Ashton has been busy in scouts. Tonight he received (I think) 11 belt loops or pins, plus his compass patch and compass point, plus his Webelos badge. We are now working toward getting his Arrow of Light by December so he can participate in the special ceremony that is planned. I think he can do it. He is working hard. Doesn't he look serious to get to work?
Here he is putting his Webelos pin on my collar. Proud mom moment.
He had to give me a hug after he received his awards. Love that he is still not embarrassed to hug his mom in public!
I was able to talk to this guy tonight. It's been a long time since I talked with my youngest brother, Loren. He has discovered FaceTime on his new iPad. Makes chatting with him in Alaska so nice! I can see his face and hear his voice at the same time. (skype isn't nearly as good) It was also good to be able to talk to his wife, Shireena. I sure miss these guys.
I'm privileged to know this man. More privileged to be able to say he is my brother. He served his country, and I'm so proud of him for that. I'm very selfish in saying I'm so glad he came home to us.
I love you, Spot!
