Grandma time! The girls were very excited to spend some time with grandma Jocelyn. After JJ had his swim lessons this morning, Nick and Ashton, Mike, John and Alissa all went golfing. So that left the rest of us to entertain ourselves. We started at Snip Its for hair cuts. Cailee is never excited to get a hair cut. Her hair is very thick, and very straight. It takes a lot of work to get it cut right. She was very patient today and did well. Both girls look cute! This place was fun... they have games or movies you can watch while they cut. Then they put in a bow if you want, and glitter and yummy smelly spray. They loved it! And grandma got them some of their own to take home. Spoiled girls!
JJ was really good too. He took a little nap while the girls got their hair done. I even got a few smiles out of him today. Cute little man.
Then we stopped at JCPenny's to pick up a couple of things. Caileee insisted it was her turn to push the stroller. I kept trying to help her steer, but she kept saying, "Mom, I've got this." So I let her go. Mom, I've got this... miss independent!
The girls sure do love their cousin. He is getting quite mobile and it's fun to watch him army crawl all over. Good luck mom and dad, it gets more fun now :) I read somewhere once that the first year of life is when the child learns more in the shortest amount of time, than any other time in their lives. And I believe it. Look what they accomplish within the first year! It's fun to watch this little man grow up and learn more and more.
My darling sisters and cute cousin had the nerve to wake me up early on a Saturday morning. Ok, it was only 9 am, but still... We are working on a song for my grandpa's funeral this next week. It was quite interesting to practice a song from two different states via face time. I'm playing the piano and Julie and cousin Katelynd are singing. Aubrey is working with them on the piano in my place until I get there next week. I made them do a selfie too...we were all in our early morning glory. I know they love me... I think...
The picture with Cailee is the one I posted to FB last night after I had already done my blog. I was sitting on the couch and out came Cailee, half asleep. She crawled into my lap and promptly went back to sleep on me. I love the cuddles! After a little while, I asked her if it was time for her to go back to her bed. She said yes. I was going to have her walk, but then she said, "no, you carry me." Of course I did. Even though she is all limbs falling out all over the place... my baby is getting so big. It's hard to believe she used to be the size JJ is now. Treasure those little ones, they grow up so fast!
