We were all over the place today. It started out with Nick going to take pictures of a HS senior early this morning. He was out the door before I woke up. After I got up and got ready to go, I took Ashton to his friend Ian's house for a few hours. He got to go to Ian's soccer game, and then spent a few hours playing before they brought him home. Cailee went to play down the street until dad got home. And Brookie was at Bridget's all day. I think everyone had a good day. Especially Cailee... above she is playing a video game all by herself. It's a two player game... I think she prefers that. Nick asked her when she wanted Brookie to come home, and she said, 'Never, so I can have her bed and all her things.' A loving sister!
She was also lucky to get ice cream tonight with dad. She went with him and was in seventh heaven when we let her eat in the living room on a towel. She went to bed with no questions. It was a good night.
Oh, and I was at the family history day for the majority of the day. It was great. (see below)
These two are inseparable a lot of the time. Brookie slept over last night, and then spent the entire day with Bridget! She did a lot of activities and was sure wired when she got home. The girls had to show us their tricks. Goof balls. Ashton was trying to get in on the fun, but I don't think he is a flexible as the girls... so we made him sit back and just watch. I was glad that Brookie had a good day, and thankful she has good friends she can spend time with. All of the kids do. It's a nice feeling.
I took so many notes today, that my hand was tired. It was fun. But the highlight was what happened in between my classes. Since it was slow, I logged in to my FamilySearch account. I have one family line that just stopped, and I have been trying to find anyone on that line. And one record that had duplicates I was trying to iron out. With the help of our friend Taylor, I was able to get rid of the duplicates and got one name ready for the temple. My first one! I can't tell you how excited I was and I can't fully describe the feeling that came over me when I got that person ready to go. I had this overwhelming feeling of joy and I felt it through my whole body. Of course I cried, because that is what I do. But what an amazing experience when I realized I helped someone get one step closer to being able to move on in the next life. It was incredible. I have heard stories of other people having these kind of experiences while doing family history. What a blessing it was to get my own special experience. It makes me want to work that much harder to find more family members on the other side. Family history is such an incredible blessing to so many people, both in this life and the next.
