~Day 2• 63: Interesting night...family history and the Fiddler...

I had my family history stuff out tonight.  I got to looking into some things on my grandma's side (Beth Campbell, my mom's mom) and I found something interesting.  Her maiden name was Nelson.  Her dad's name was Rasmus K. Nelson.  His dad's name was Rasmus Peter Nelson.  And his dad's name was Rasmus Peter (Peder) Nielsen.... I want to find out why they changed the name from Nielsen to Nelson.

I sent a letter to my aunt Linda J., (my grandma's sister) and I started looking on the Family Search site... the site didn't say anything (that I could find tonight), so I'm hoping that she knows or one of her siblings knows.  The change isn't that major, and it's not like the dad's name was 'Nel,' so they changed the  name to 'Nel'son, like a lot of Scandinavian names do.... taking the name of the father and adding the 'son' after it... Johnson, Anderson, Peterson... etc.  So it will be interesting to see if there actually is a story, or if it was just a typo somewhere... we shall see!

And in the background... one of my favorite musicals, Fiddler on the Roof.  I LOVE this movie.  I can put it on in the background and listen to it while I do other things.  I love doing that with movies.  I put on ones I have watched, or listened to, many MANY times.  I don't have to concentrate on them and focus on the project at hand.  But it somehow keeps me focused on what I'm doing.  Kind of contradicting, I know.  Put on noise to keep you focused.  Oh well, it works.

(and going back and reading this, I realized I use '...' way...too...much...oh well.  And I purposely put in full names, or some partials, for future reference.  I'm learning that it's nice to have names referenced.  Makes looking things up later in life a lot easier.)
