The kids and I played "Scene It" tonight. It was fun... until I lost. To the children. Cailee and I had a commanding lead. Ashton, and Brookie when she got home, slowly came from behind. On the final question, we were neck-and-neck... It came down to one question and Dad had to pipe up and shout out the answer from the kitchen. Ashton blurted it out just before the time ran out, and he and Brooks won! You can see the 'fist bump' in the top picture. The cuties. It was a great game! We had fun.
The kids had early day yesterday and today. Cailee came in from playing outside with her friends and had to get a few supplies. She found her sunglasses, toy backpack, and toys to take outside. She and BrookLynn were outside for most of the afternoon. They love to be outside. Cailee is also a goof... during the 'Scene It' game, she was being very silly. Hopping around and almost falling off the couch and giggling uncontrollably. Love her laugh!
Brookie was VERY distraught when she found out one of the clowns died early this morning. She was almost inconsolable for quite awhile. She was so sad. She was sad we never really named them, either. So she named the last one, 'Dan.' (the other one was supposed to be Daisy) Nick gave 'Dan' a fresh water bath, hoping to kill off the parasites. The thing hated being out of the tank and basically jumped back into the big tank into the salt water. (top right picture of Dan in the fresh water bath)
Later, Nick took Brookie with him to pick out our 'hospital.' It's a small tank where we can isolate sick fishies and treat them for their illnesses with fish medicine. Also we can isolate new fish to make sure they aren't sick before we contaminate the whole large tank and kill everyone off. We think that is what happened with our current fish. We bought my favorite fish, the Flame, and it died the next day. Fabulous. And now the clowns are sick. We think it came to us sick. If we had put it in the small tank first, our clowns might be ok.
Hard lesson for the kids to learn, but I think it's been good overall for them. Nick and I are sad, too. These little guys are adorable. I hope Dan lives. He's now staying in the hospital by himself. I'm sure he will get a lot of visitors during his stay. We will see what happens!
