~Day 340: Nutcracker Fun!

Today we went to see the Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Ballet.  Julie and Carey and I brought our daughters and had a great mother/daughter day.  It was so much fun!

Don't these girls look fabulous in their fancy dresses?  I think they love getting dressed up.

I love these ladies!  We have become such great friends over the years.  It was so much fun to spend the day with them and their girls!

My cuties.  I love them so much!  I'm so glad they are getting old enough that I can share things like this with them.  it's a lot of fun!

Before the ballet, we stopped at Village Inn for lunch.  I love the seating arrangements!  It worked out great!  I don't think my girls ate though.  Halfway through the performance they said they were both starving.

The ballet was performed in the Chandler Performing Arts Center.  Outside the main entrance are these great benches.  They look like piano keyboards.  I want one!

I wasn't going to get the girls anything when we got inside.  But the tiny snow globes with the Nutcracker characters were very cute.  So each girl got one.  Spoileds.

I say this all the time.  My arms are too short for selfies.  But that doesn't stop me from taking them.  I know... everyone gets a closeup of my nose.

BrookLynn had two classmates who were in the first act.  Bridgette and Hannah!  And Bridgette's mom was in it too, but I missed getting a picture with Lorelei.  it was so much fun to look for someone we know while we watched.  They did so good!  Brookie also had 2 more classmates come today.  Hannah J. and Cassidy.  These girls are always so cute together!

After the performance, we were able to go backstage and see things closeup.  It was quite fascinating.  The girls are under the large Gingerbread Lady's dress.  And Cailee wanted to walk up the stairs to the bench that Clara and the Prince sat on.

The cute girls are sitting on the sleigh that Clara and the Prince rode in.  And Candace (Cassidy's sister) had to sneak in the back.  Backstage was amazing!

Cailee, Joslyn and Brookie tried to get Lucy to join them for a picture on the sleigh.  But we couldn't convince her it was so much fun.  So one of the cuties is missing here.

The ballet company we saw is called Ballet Etudes.  This company has young artists that make up their company.  They were phenomenal!  Cailee was enthralled with the Sugar Plum Fairy.  I love her face here!  While I watched the dancing, I had to remind myself that these were not adults, but kids.  They were absolutely fabulous!!

It was such a fun day with my girls!  I love them so much!!

Ashton spent part of the day with his friend Ian.  The other part was spent with his dad.  Ian's parents were great to let him come play today.  After he went to their house, Nick took him to the driving range with Ashton's new set of junior-sized golf clubs.  Ashton said it was fun!

When I got home with the girls, I took Ashton with me to get stuff for dinner.  He really wanted to scan the items on his own.  So I let him.  He is getting too big.  I love that he is growing up, but I'm sad at the same time.  My babies are growing up way too quickly.

When I was tucking Cailee into bed tonight, she pulled back her hair and I saw this lovely goose egg on her forehead.  She did this sometime between the time I left to get dinner stuff and when I got home.  She was out riding her bike and fell off.  Nick said she didn't say a word.  And while it might be difficult to see the egg here, it's probably the size of a quarter and purple.  It doesn't seem to be affecting her.  I'm just surprised she didn't say anything.

Today was very eventful and very fun!  It's hard to go back to the real world after days like today.  Great day!
