~Day 2• 10: But it's not a dog!

Today was kind of laid back.  My parents and I spent a lot of time discussing music.  I showed them how to download songs from iTunes onto their phones.  So my dad found a recording of a piano solo that he had in sheet music form.  It was fun to listen to it played by the composer.  We also played the piano for awhile.  It was nice.  We used to talk music a lot when I lived closer.  So this was fun.

The day really started when Cailee wrapped herself around daddy's little finger.  Somehow every saturday morning has turned into 'donut morning.'  The girls like to go with dad to pick out some donuts and bring them home.  Then Ashton had fun playing on his video games for awhile.  He and Nick like to talk smack and it's fun to listen to.  All the kids ended up going outside today.  Nick and Ashton went to the driving rang again, and Ashton hit his ball the longest ever, so far.  Very proud of him!  And Brookie stayed outside the longest.  I swear she was out from dawn till dusk... rain and all.  I love this time of year when they can be outside for long periods of time.

Cailee came inside after awhile and just sat with me.  It was dark in the living room, but I still tried to get the stages of her not falling asleep, to falling asleep, to not falling asleep.  She was fighting sleep, but she was so tired.

Then she moved to snuggle with grandma and grandpa.  My dad had a football game on and it got a little intense.  So Cailee moved from him to my mom when my dad started to jump up and get excited.  We watched a couple of really good games today.

My mom and I finished the night with some grocery shopping.  I really do hate shopping, but it was kind of nice to just go get things done without the kids there.  Now everyone is worn out and sleeping.  Good night.

**oh yes.  on a side note... Nick is lobbying for a new salt water tank.  I can't remember how the subject came up at dinner, but when he asked if the kids wanted one and I started to voice objections, Cailee pipes up and says: "At least it's not a dog!"  Yes, it's not a dog.  Very logical Cailee.  The fish won't jump up on you like dogs do. (and yes, I would love to have a salt water tank again.  they are so beautiful and peaceful) The End**
